DR. KARL JOBST AWARDED FELLOWSHIP FROM THE ACADEMY OF GENERAL DENTISTRY AND THE INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE OR ORAL IMPLANTOLOGY

Grove, OK 7/25/12– Dr. Karl Jobst has been awarded his Fellowship in both the Academy of General Dentistry, the second largest dental organization in the US, as well as his Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Jobst is a strong supporter of the importance of continuing education. The Oklahoma Dental Association requires all dentists to earn 60 hours of continuing education every 3 years to renew and maintain their licensure. Dr. Jobst believes that Grove area patients deserve more than the minimum; they deserve a dentist dedicated to learning the latest clinical and technological advances in modern dentistry.

To obtain a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, a dentist must earn a minimum of 500 hours of continuing education and pass the Fellowship examination. According to the American Dental Association, there are 191,000 active dentists in the US and 1,900 in Oklahoma. Less than 3% of all US dentists have earned their Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, placing Dr. Jobst in an elite position amongst his peers.

In addition, Dr. Jobst has earned his Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), an organization that trains and credentials general dentists in the placement and restoration of dental implants. The Fellowship requires a minimum of 75 hours of implant continuing education as well as the submission of at least 20 completed implant cases with detailed surgical documentation. Maintaining the ICOI Fellowship also requires an equal amount of continuing clinical education over the next five years, plus publication of articles in industry journals.

“There are only four dentists in the state of Oklahoma that have earned Fellowships in both the AGD and the ICOI, and I am proud to offer this level of care to patients in Grove and the surrounding area,” stated Dr. Jobst.

Dr. Jobst and Grand Lake Dental offer general and family dentistry, natural looking cosmetic dentistry, treatment of TMJ disorders, and placement and restoration of dental implants to patients throughout Oklahoma.

DR. KARL JOBST AND DENTISTRY FROM THE HEART DONATES OVER $61,000 IN FREE CARE TO GROVE AREA RESIDENTS

Grove, OK 7/25/12– Dr. Karl Jobst and the team from Grand Lake Dental generously donated $61,989 worth of free dental care to area residents in need during their second annual “Dentistry From the Heart” day, June 28, 2012.

Lack of dental insurance, high unemployment and a lack of options for low cost care often make routine or even emergency dental care difficult for many Grove area residents. “Our practice has been fortunate to not only survive the recession, but to be in a position to give back,” explained Dr. Jobst.

On June 28, residents of Grove and surrounding towns waited patiently for their turn to be seen by Dr. Jobst and his team. Patients seen that day received exams, x-rays, oral cancer screenings, dental cleanings, oral surgery on infected and painful teeth, fillings, crowns, partials, dentures and even dental implants, all at no cost. Grand Lake Dental employees donated their time to care for patients, and Dr. Jobst and Grand Lake Dental funded the cost of all supplies, equipment and even lab bills.

National averages figure that less than 50% of Americans have dental insurance, meaning that those without coverage need to pay for routine and necessary care out of pocket. For many area families, that simply isn’t an option. Groceries, gas and basic necessities come before dentistry. “Dentistry From the Heart is our day to help those in need,” said Dr. Jobst. “The smiles and hugs we get from patients during that event fills our hearts and is payment enough.”

In 2011, Dr. Jobst hosted his first Dentistry From the Heart event, donating $56,406 worth of care, supplies and lab work. This year, the day’s donation totaled $61,989.

Dentistry From the Heart (DFTH) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those who need it. Every year, individual dentists and practices across the country donate their time and resources to host their own DFTH events. The organization is proud to have helped over 50,000 underserved people throughout the US and Canada since it was founded.

Dr. Jobst and Grand Lake Dental offer general and family dentistry, natural looking cosmetic dentistry, treatment of TMJ disorders, and placement and restoration of dental implants to patients throughout Oklahoma.
